Caucus for Us provides facilitated group conversations for people of like identities to come together and explore the systems of power and oppression in which we all play a part. Caucusing creates a brave space for collectives to talk about shared experiences, explore feelings, unpack privileged identities, and release the pain of marginalization.
Caucus for Us facilitates groups that explore the impact of anti-Black bias, white privilege, and white supremacy. These groups are organized based on like identities, oriented around the chosen topic, and facilitated by an individual or team of the same identity. White caucusing allows white people to identify and interrupt white privilege through dialogue. Caucuses for non-white racial identities support processing and expressing the harms of white supremacist culture.
I urge you, if the experience of caucusing holds a monetary value to you, donate money to Black organizations, activist, artists, and buy the books of Black authors via Black owned bookstores to financially support this moment. The wave of change that is upon us requires not only divestment from the things we desire to no longer support but investment in the things we are hungering to see flourish.
